Cravens Elementary School is a K-5 public elementary school. On December 19, 1957, the school located on West Fifth Street (renamed Cravens Avenue in 2004) was officially christened the Mary Lee Cravens School. According to Dr. Kenneth Estes, Superintendent when the school was constructed, the building was named after Mary Lee Cravens because of her unselfish devotion to the students and community.
